Recursive Processing

Phenomenologists start with the exploration of  experience as it presents itself, as it is given. How honest/sincere can we possibly be in doing this? It becomes an exercise in truth-speaking…visceral, uninhibited, association and context-free description.
Everything that we say about our experience is framed by the structures already at place in that experience. — Is this really a limitation?
What is the relationship between neural states and mental phenomena?
The neural system structurally and functionally maintains and allows for the organism to perceive a world.
What of imagination and recollection? How can a neural system actively organize itself to functionally allow for the lived experience of a world and also spontaneously generate permutations of that world (imagination, dreams) and the ability for the system to activate former states of itself (memory)? Do other biological systems have this type of recursive processing?
